I’m finally coming down from the sensory overload that is the San Diego comic convention. Embrio and I had a good time, it was no where near as crazy of a party as Dragon-Con, but a good time none the less. We made some solid connections and received a positive reaction to our portfolio.

Friday night we went for sushi and it was amazing, really good stuff and totally hit the spot after a full day of walking the hall. We ate with John Giang of Orbital Harvest (and now ILM you lucky bastard ) and Laurie and Kandrix of Konsequential Studios. The conversation ran all of the usual topics, from politics to hentai and Rob Liefeld . On Saturday night we went to the Sarah Silverman panel and laughed our asses off. If you are a fan of bizarre and offensive humor you should give her show a try.

Then to top the whole weekend off we received the news that our new Electric Boogaloo picture has been selected to be in the next Exotique book by Ballistic Publishing!

Here’s the first post on our “ArtBlog”. Embrio and I will do our best to keep this current, interesting and hopefully on topic. We will be updating to let people know what we’re working on, what conventions/artshows we will be attending, and when new published pieces come out.

So, with that in mind I guess I’ll mention what shows we will be attending this summer. First is the San Diego Comic-Con on July 25-29. We will be attending with portfolios in hand (no booth or table yet). Second will be Gen Con on August 16-19 in Indianapolis. Same as San Diego, we are going with portfolios for networking/schmoozing. Then there’s Dragon-Con on August 31 to September 3 in Atlanta. Dragon-Con ’06 was a total blast and we are really looking forward to going back. We managed to take 1st place in the art show last year and we’re hoping to do it again. We’ll have our work on display/sale in the art show and prints for sale in the print shop. We’ve decided not to get a table this year which will give us more time to see the convention, meet the editors and party all night long .
