What’s up?

Well, it’s been a little while since our last post, but we’ve been busy. We are currently working on a project for Green Ronin Publishing. We are creating the Deck of Illusions. It’s a deck of 34 cards with various monsters/characters on it and it’s meant as a real world representation of the D&D magical item. Here’s a sneak peek at a couple of our illustrations for it.

While we have been preoccupied one of our biggest fans (certainly the most motivated) , Lady Seraphina has set up a Facebook Group for us. So, if you’re on Facebook and haven’t already, why not join up.

The Dragon-Con Experience

This is going to be a long one :)

Our flight left Calgary on Thursday at 12:25 AM. Embrio was going to show up at my place on Wednesday nice and early since we still had some last minute details to take care of. Of course, that would be too easy. Instead Embrio’s car “breaks down” about 10 minutes away from my house and he has to wait for a tow-truck to show up. Thankfully our buddy Rich was able to pick us up in his mini-van.

We made our flight on time and everything was going smoothly, but we knew there was trouble ahead. We flew to Toronto first and only had an hour to make it through US customs to catch our connecting flight to Atlanta. Thanks to the slow processing of our over sized luggage ( four 40″x 28″ stretched canvas prints ) and a lovely time in the “back room” at customs we missed our flight and thought we may not even be allowed into the country. Luckily we got a break and were able to make another flight into Atlanta only a couple hours later.

Check in went smooth and we had time to finish signing all of our prints for the art show before we had to go down to set up. As soon as we got to the show we ran into Satyr and Pixie a couple of friends from last years show. After setting up as much as we could at the art show on Thursday night we grabbed a bite to eat and had a bit of deja vu from the year before when we noticed a celebrity eating at the table across from us. It was fellow Canadian Tom Braidwood. He played Melvin Frohike one of the Lone Gunmen from the X-files. It was deja vu since the year before we also ate next to a celebrity (Deep Roy) Thursday night. Then we phoned the general and it was off to party with the PHC (Party Hard Corps).

Our First Contest

I’m just throwing this post together after spending the last 10 hours getting home from Dragon-con and I’ll edit it when I wake up :) . This will be our first official blog contest where the winner will get their choice of one #1/200 limited edition print. In order to enter all you have to do is make a comment on this post with your e-mail and we’ll pick the winner at random. I have comments set to need approval so don’t worry if yours doesn’t show up right away. Now, to bed.

OK, now that I’m well rested I can flesh this out a little more. Once the winner is chosen randomly we will contact them and find out which 13 x 19 limited edition print they would like. Currently the choices are Invisible Bowstring, Elves, Rise of Boksur, and Myrra the Blind. Those are the only prints that we still have the #1 edition of. Of course it is also at the discretion of the winner to pick any other 13 x 19 limited edition print that we offer, but they will just get the lowest edition number we have left. I think we’ll let the contest run until the end of September and it will be limited to residents of North America (unless you can prove you were at Dragon-con 2007 if you’re not from NA). Oh and only one entry per household please. Good Luck.
